Biblical Manhood & Womanhood - 1 Timothy Pt.1

READ: 1 Timothy 1

Men of God Are fully committed to sound doctrine and the stewardship of the Gospel and are careful to teach and proclaim the truth of God’s word.  “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” - 2 Timothy 2:15

 -  1 Timothy 1:3-7 - As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge (command) certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, (deviating from the truth) 4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations (zay-tay-sis: dispute, questioning) rather than the stewardship (knowledge of the things by which God has provided for and prepared salvation which is by faith alone) from God that is by faith. 5 The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6 Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion, (matia-la-gee-a: empty talk)7 desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions.”

Men of God live obediently and purpose to walk with Christ continually.   “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done in love.” - 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

 -  1 Timothy 1:8-11 - Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, 10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, 11 in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.
